Felicity Huffman's Movie Bombs

Perhaps TV stars should stay away from the big screen. Following disastrous box office results for Matthew Fox's "We Are Marshall," "Desperate Housewives" co-star Nicolette Sheridan's "Code Name: The Cleaner" and Adam Brody's "In the Land of Women," Felicity Huffman's new movie "Georgia Rule" bombed at the weekend box office collecting a scant $5,9 million.

Veteran actress Jane Fonda and scandal-prone starlet Lindsay Lohan could not save the movie that had a reported budget of $60 million, which means it will have to earn over $100 million if the studio "Universal Pictures" is to reach the break-even point.

International distribution, DVD rentals and TV rights can help, but with initial box office so low, this movie will go down as a bomb.

The honchos at the studio who could not have been very happy to see the initial figures on Sunday morning, had already been at the end of their tether when they issued an unusual written reproach to Lohan during the production of the movie.

They called her conduct "discourteous, irresponsible and unprofessional" and said it had "endangered the quality of the picture."
